The present is embodied in Hexagram 16 - Yu (Enthusiasm): In this state, feudal princes and other delegates may be set up, and the hosts put in motion, with advantage.
The first (bottommost) line, divided, shows its subject proclaiming his pleasure and satisfaction. There will be evil.
The third line, divided, shows one looking up for favours while he indulges the feeling of pleasure and satisfaction. If he would understand! If he be late in doing so, there will indeed be occasion for repentance.
The fifth line, divided, show one with a chronic complaint, but who lives on without dying.
The situation is shifting, and Yang (the active masculine force) is becoming much more powerful.

The future is embodied in Hexagram 49 - Ko (Revolution): What takes place is believed in only after it has been accomplished. There will be great progress and success. Advantage will come from being firm and correct. In that case, occasion for repentance will disappear.
The things most apparent, those above and in front, are embodied by the upper trigram Chen (Thunder), which is transforming into Tui (Lake). As part of this process, movement, initiative, and action are giving way to joy, pleasure, and attraction.
The things least apparent, those below and behind, are embodied by the lower trigram K'un (Earth), which is transforming into Li (Fire). As part of this process, docility and receptivity are giving way to brightness and warmth.
