Today's I Ching for J.K. Rowling
The yarrow have been drawn....
| The present is embodied in Hexagram 36 - Ming I (Darkening of the Light): It will be advantageous to realize the difficulty of the position, and maintain firm correctness. | | The first (bottommost) line, undivided, shows its subject, in the condition indicated by Ming I, flying, but with drooping wings. When the superior man is revolving his going away, he may be for three days without eating. Wherever he goes, the people there may speak derisively of him. | | The third line, undivided, shows its subject, in the condition indicated by Ming I, hunting in the south, and taking the great chief of the darkness. He should not be eager to make all correct at once. | | The situation is shifting, and Yin (the passive feminine force) is gaining ground. |
| The future is embodied in Hexagram 2 - K'un (The Receptive): That which is great and originating, advantageous, correct and having the firmness of a mare. When the superior man must move, if he takes the initiative he will go astray. If he follows, he will find his proper lord. The advantage will be seen in his getting friends in the southwest, and losing friends in the northeast. If he rest in correctness and firmness, there will be good fortune. | | The things most apparent, those above and in front, are embodied by the upper trigram K'un (Earth), which represents docility and receptivity. | | The things least apparent, those below and behind, are embodied by the lower trigram Li (Fire), which is transforming into K'un (Earth). As part of this process, brightness and warmth are giving way to docility and receptivity. |
