| In the first (or lowest) line, undivided, we see the dragon lying hidden in the deep. It is not the time for active doing. |
| In the fourth line, undivided, we see the dragon looking as if he were leaping up, but still in the deep. There will be no mistake. |
| In the fifth line, undivided, we see the dragon on the wing in the sky. It will be advantageous to meet with the great man. |
| In the sixth (or topmost) line, undivided, we see its subject as the dragon exceeding the proper limits. There will be occasion for repentance. |
| The situation is changing rapidly, and Yin (the passive feminine force) is gaining ground. |






| The future is embodied in Hexagram 46 - Sheng (Pushing Upward): There will be great progress and success. Seeking to meet with the great man, its subject need have no anxiety. Advance to the south will be fortunate. |
 | The things most apparent, those above and in front, are embodied by the upper trigram Chi'en (Heaven), which is transforming into K'un (Earth). As part of this process, strength and creativity are giving way to docility and receptivity. |
 | The things least apparent, those below and behind, are embodied by the lower trigram Chi'en (Heaven), which is transforming into Sun (Wind). As part of this process, strength and creativity are giving way to penetration and following. |
